Celebrity is excited to have DJ Smart be a part of our amazing faculty! Originally from Detroit, DJ excelled quickly in multiple styles and transitioned his studies to the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where he graduated with a B.F.A. in Ballet Performance. As a graduate with honors, DJ was awarded both the prestigious Stella Moore Prize and Outstanding in All Styles Award. DJ has made numerous guest appearances and has toured internationally, performing, teaching and choreographing across the USA and over 15 countries across the world. DJ has received remarkable reviews for his performances and choreography, and has appeared in magazines and newspapers such as Dance Spirit, Detroit Free Press, SET Magazine, EDGE magazine, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Los Angeles Times, Houston Chronicle, Offoffoff Dance and The Baltimore Sun. Some of his credits include: Momix Dance Company, Camille A. Brown & Dancers, Oklahoma!, Twenty One Pilots, Stevie B, BEX, Bad Boys of Dance, Koresh Dance Company, Eleone Dance Theatre and Step Up Revolution fitness DVD. Most notably, he was a special guest performer on the hit TV series So You Think You Can Dance and So You Think You Can Dance Ukraine. DJ also appeared as a guest judge on Lifetime’s Dance Moms. DJ is proficient in ballet, lyrical, jazz, tap, hip-hop, African, contemporary, West Indian, Latin ballroom and modern dance. DJ hopes to leave an everlasting impression as an artist, humanitarian and humble human-being with each dancer he encounters at Celebrity Conventions!
