Aaron Turner

Celebrity Faculty

Celebrity is delighted to welcome back Aaron Turner to Convention! Aaron lives to perform and share his joy of dance with others. While growing up, Aaron studied ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary and soon discovered a passion for tap and hip hop. After high school, Aaron attended and graduated from the University of Nevada. During college, Aaron continued to study and teach, both tap and hip hop to young students, while working on the Las Vegas strip in the Broadway presentation of Stomp Out Loud. Aaron’s love of dance and onstage performance have continued to lead him in directions he never imagined. At the insistence of family and friends, Aaron agreed to audition for the television show So You Think You Can Dance season 9. In a highly competitive field where over 7000 auditioned, Aaron made it to the Green Mile before being cut. Not to be deterred, Aaron auditioned the following year and went on to become the first tap dancer, in the show’s ten year history, to join the top 20 and advance all the way to the finals. Aaron was also the first tapper to appear as a So You Think You Can Dance All-Star, dancing with two tap finalists the following year. Since his success on the show, Aaron has become one of the most sought after teachers and choreographers in the country. His credits include, Nigel Lithgow’s Happy Feet Foundation, Excel In Motion, Cirque du Soleil Beatles Love and is a Capezio Endorsed Athlete. Aaron’s creative eye and love of the dance art form has enabled him to easily interact with those who aspire to have a career in dance. He is proud of the world of opportunity dance has provided, and hopes to continue inspiring others to follow a path in dance. Aaron is exhilarated to be a part of Celebrity Dance Convention!
